Depression

 There are times in our lives when we feel sad, but depression affects our everyday lives making it difficult or challenging to find enjoyment in day-to-day activities.

 

 Most of us will experience periods of feeling down or low, with depression this feeling is persistent and will last for weeks or months not just a few days. Some days it can be difficult or impossible to get out of bed to start your day, a low mood can leave you with depression symptoms of feeling irritable, tired, tearful and angry.


 Loss of concentration, confidence, self-esteem and motivation can also be some of the forms that depression takes. It can be incredibly difficult living with depression, there can be a significant impact on ourselves as well as the people around us. 


Suffering from depression can create problems in our personal and social relationships due to the way our thoughts, feelings and moods are affected.  


Working with a counsellor or therapist can help you explore your thoughts and feelings as well as support you with strategies and techniques that can help you cope. 

Through a supportive non-judgmental approach, some of the causes of your depression may be discovered and explored in order to find a way forward that suits you.
